St John's Wort, symbol of Protection, The Sun, Happiness, Midsummer's eve, The Divine Masculine and Rebirth.
 
St John’s Wort represents the sun in Celtic traditions, going by the name sol terrestis, which translates to the terrestrial sun. It is known to protect those who wander in the woods from the mischief of the fae. While in Ancient Greece St John's wort in particular was considered to provide protection from demons and restless undead. In medieval times, it was believed that if a person placed a piece of St. John's Wort under his pillow on St. John's Eve, St. John would appear in that person's dreams to bless him or her and prevent that person from dying in the year to come.
 
St John's Wort is also a potent and incredible herb for helping treat and work through depression, anxiety and fatigue.
 
Each one of our Herbs & Roots is packaged in a glass vile and is wax sealed with The Magpie & The Moon stamp.
 
Each one of our Herbs & Roots is individually hand picked, hand dried & hand blessed. It is important to us that all of our herbs are locally grown in one of our many Gardens or is hand foraged from the wilds of Cornwall. Using what the earth provides locally and being a self sustaining craft with no mass farming or importing. Using what the earth and the season provide keeping our herb craft as traditional as possible.
