Spruce

Spruce is a sacred tree across many lands with Greek mythology telling the story of it being dedicated to Artemis, the Goddess of the Moon, Hunting, Nature and protector of women. It was seen as the "Tree of Birth" symbolising life and endurance. While in Finnish folklore, spruce is connected to the land of the death, Alinen but it was also seen as a protective tree. While the Vikings worshipped tree and its evergreen Scandinavian forests, which they believed were the special plant of Balder, the sun god. 
 
 
 
 
Spruce is the perfect ingredient to symbolise, Life, Protection, Death, Endurance, New Starts and begins, and the return.
 
 
 
 
Each one of our Herbs & Roots is packaged in a glass vile and is wax sealed with The Magpie & The Moon stamp.
 
 
Each one of our Herbs & Roots is individually hand picked, hand dried & hand blessed. It is important to us that all of our herbs are locally grown in one of our many Gardens or is hand foraged from the wilds of Cornwall. Using what the earth provides locally and being a self sustaining craft with no mass farming or importing.
 
 
Using what the earth and the season provide keeping our herb craft as traditional as possible.
