Mistletoe, symbol of Love, Fertility, Power, Necromancy, Vitality, Peace, Endurance and Life.
 
 
Mistletoe is scared across Europe from the Druids of the celtic lands, to the Vikings of Norse. Its a plant of power and great importance. Within the Norse Legends its said that the god Baldur was invincible since his mother had made everything growing on earth promise not to harm him. Unfortunately, mistletoe didn’t actually grow on the ground, so it was used in a form of arrow or spear to kill him. Frigga’s tears then turned into mistletoe berries, which brought her son back to life, so she declared the plant a symbol of love and life. While across ancient Britain and France, its said the Druids “held nothing more sacred than the mistletoe and the tree that bears it.” In fact, the ancient Druids worshipped the plant and even climbed trees to harvest it. Mistletoe was widely used in rituals or in medicine.
 
 
Mistletoe is a strong and sacred plant to use and call on in practice.

It is important to us that all of our herbs are locally grown in one of our many Gardens or is hand foraged from the wilds of Cornwall. Using what the earth provides locally and being a self sustaining craft with no mass farming or importing.
 
 
Using what the earth and the season provide keeping our herb craft as traditional as possible.
