Grape Hyacinth

Grape Hyacinth, flower of the underworld symbolising Death, Necromancy, Jealousy, Desire for Forgiveness and Sincerity. Its is a scared flower to Apollo, Hyakinthos, Demeter and Persephone. The Ancient Greeks regarded it as a flower of death and in many European cultures it was associated with remembrance. This is a reflection of its connection with the myth of Hyakinthos, who through an act of the gods was killed by his Lover Apollo whilst throwing a discus. Weeping for his Lover, Apollo stated that a flower would eventually bear his tears, instantly blossoms are said to have sprouted from the blood of Hyakinthos, these were reputedly what we know as Grape hyacinths today.
 
 
 
The perfect ingredient to use in Reconciliation spell workings, calling forth the dead, Forgiveness rites and as an offering to Apollo, Hyakinthos, Demeter and Persephone.
 
 
 
 
Each one of our Herbs & Roots is packaged in a glass vile and is wax sealed with The Magpie & The Moon stamp.
 
 
Each one of our Herbs & Roots is individually hand picked, hand dried & hand blessed. It is important to us that all of our herbs are locally grown in one of our many Gardens or is hand foraged from the wilds of Cornwall. Using what the earth provides locally and being a self sustaining craft with no mass farming or importing.
 
 
Using what the earth and the season provide keeping our herb craft as traditional as possible.
