Fortuna goddess of fortune, luck, and fate, often depicted blindfolded and with a cornucopia or wheel of fortune, symbolizing the unpredictable nature of fate and the potential for both good and bad fortune. Fortuna's name, meaning "she who brings," reflects her role as the deity presiding over chance, luck, and the unpredictable nature of fate. She is the Roman equivalent of the Greek goddess Tyche, who also personified luck and fortune. Romans would pray and offer sacrifices to Fortuna in the hope of gaining her favour and ensuring good fortune.
