Cornflower (Blue)

Blue Cornflower, the symbol of peace, tranquility, hope, and striving for the unattainable. Its said that this mighty flower will push us to unlock our full potential and will help us reach any goal we set.
 
Blue cornflower in Greek mythology were associated with Zeus and Hera. It is said that Zeus, the father of the gods, transformed himself into a cornflower to seduce Hera. The flower became a symbol of love and beauty. While in Roman mythology, cornflowers were a symbol of the goddess Juno. Juno was the goddess of marriage and patron saint of women and children. Cornflowers were often used in wedding ceremonies to symbolize good luck and fertility. In the Celtic lands cornflowers were associated with the goddess Brigid. Brigid was the goddess of fertility, healing and poetry. Cornflowers have often been used as a medicinal plant to treat headaches and eye problems.

Each one of our Herbs & Roots is individually hand picked, hand dried & hand blessed. It is important to us that all of our herbs are locally grown in one of our many Gardens or is hand foraged from the wilds of Cornwall. Using what the earth provides locally and being a self sustaining craft with no mass farming or importing. Using what the earth and the season provide keeping our herb craft as traditional as possible.
