Chrysanthemum

Chrysanthemum has a long history in Witchcraft and Magick appearing in many paths across the world. From the Greeks believing that this stunning flower would protect against evil spirits and would often be left in graveyards to rest the souls of the dead. While in East Asia, the chrysanthemum is the symbol of a long and happy life. As part of this superstition, chrysanthemum wine is drunk in China on the ninth day of the ninth month for peace, health and old age.
 
 
 
The Chrysanthemum also birthed the superstition that you may be familiar with: the fortune-telling power of Chrysanthemum leucanthemum, also known as the daisy. The game of pulling petals off the flower head one by one whilst chanting 'He loves me, he loves me not…' has its origins in old soothsaying rituals that made use of the flower.
 
 
The Chrysanthemum is the symbol of Long Life, Protection from spirit and the restless dead Intuition.
 
 
 
The flower is also the perfect offering to spirit and deities of the underworld.

Each one of our Herbs & Roots is individually hand picked, hand dried & hand blessed. It is important to us that all of our herbs are locally grown in one of our many Gardens or is hand foraged from the wilds of Cornwall. Using what the earth provides locally and being a self sustaining craft with no mass farming or importing.
 
 
Using what the earth and the season provide keeping our herb craft as traditional as possible.
